Taiwan Volleybal Photos

It's been over a week now since Emily and her team returned from their sea

son-ending tournament in Taiwan. She is already missing volleyball and is eagerly awaiting the 2012-13 season. Here are a few photos from the tournament.

Scenes from Cheung Chau

We had a great time and felt very relaxed after our time in Cheung Chau. Here are some photos that show some more of the island.

Dinner on the Boardwalk

Cheung Chau is known for its seafood so it was fitting that we had dinner on the boardwalk with a view of all the fishing boats. We had some fried shrimp with vegetables, sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, spring rolls and some very fresh scallops (staff brought them over in a net to show us how fresh they were). We strolled the boardwalk before returning to our B&B for the night.

Trip to Cheung Chau

We are spending the weekend in Cheung Chau, a small island 45 minutes from Hong Kong by ferry. Residents here are either fisherman or part of the tourist industry. Hundreds of people visit here, especially on the weekend. No roads or vehicles here so the only way to get around is to walk or ride a bike. We spent two hours riding around the waterfront and some of the backstreets. We are looking forward to some seafood tonight.

Volleyball Tournament

Emily was selected as a member of the Junior Girls Volleyball team at TIS. She is EXTREMELY excited about this!!! The team had its first taste of competition this past weekend when TIS hosted five other local schools in a friendly tournament. There were many nerves as this was the first time many of the girls have ever taken part in a volleyball competition.
Wins were scarce but the experience was valuable as the team prepares to travel to an ACAMIS

tournament in Taiwan next weekend.
