Trip to Disneyland

Last weekend the Varga's headed to Hong Kong to do some shopping and to visit Disneyland. Everyone enjoyed being a "kid" for the day as there were rides and experiences for people of all ages. Emily and Danielle were able to get photos with Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella while we all had our photo taken with Donald Duck.
The rides were also a bit hit as we all went on "Small world", and "Buzz Lightyear" while the girls joined mom on her favorite the "Teacup ride". The Jungle riverboat was also much fun as was bumping into Prince Caspian from Narnia.
It was a long day as we headed to the ferry right after leaving Disneyland and everyone crashed to sleep early Sunday night.

International Volleyball in Macau

Back in Canada I was involved with volleyball officiating a lot but in Macau there hasn't been the same opportunities available to me. I was fortunate to get a taste of volleyball last weekend as a Women's Grand Prix event was held in Macau. Teams from China, Brazil, Dominican Republic, and Japan competed against one another over three days.
I was asked by the organizers to be a press assistant for the event. My job was to write match summaries in English that would be made available to all media and also be posted on the FIVB website.
It was great to sit court-side during the matches and watch the play. I also attended a gala dinner on the final night that was attended by the players, coaches and officials.
