Tropical Cyclone Visits Macau
Our weekend plans were postponed today as Tropical Cyclone "Neoguri" made land just SW of Macau. The storm wasn't supposed to affect us all that much but Neoguri turned towards Macau once it hit land. It is very windy now with intense rainfall. Most businesses have been closed and the three bridges between Macau and Taipa (where we live) have been closed to traffic as well. Thank goodness for the internet and cable TV!

Grandparents Depart
Anniversary Dinner
Jim and June celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary a few months ago and since we couldn't make it to the celebration in Canada, we decided to have a nice dinner in Macau. Jackie and I took her parents to the 360 degree restaurant at the Macau Tower. This revolving restaurant is sixty stories above ground and it offers great views of Macau and China.

Weekend in Hong Kong
Mom, Dad and I headed to Hong Kong on April 4th to do some sightseeing. We went to Stanley Market, where we toured the many stalls and shops. After lunch at a seaside restaurant, we took the MTR to Kowloon and did some more shopping at the Ladies Market in Mongkok. The next day, we took the MTR to Lantau Island to see the Giant Buddha and Po Lim Monastery. It was well worth the trip. The Giant Buddha is the largest bronze statue of Buddha in the world and was quite impressive. After lunch on Lantau Island, we headed back to Hong Kong Island and took a late evening ferry back to Macau. A world wind trip, but one to remember.
